I started taking pictures with a Brownie camera when I was about 10. At the age of 12 or so I was given some darkroom equipment by the parents of a friend of my sister’s. They were professional photographers so the equipment was quite good.
Both my wife Julie and I were brought up around the Ottawa area and lived and worked there most of our lives. In 1998, I had an opportunity to work for a high tech company in San Jose California and after three years there, we moved back to Canada but this time we went to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. I continued working out of our home in Nanaimo for another 6 years until I retired in 2007.
I’ve have had interest in photography most of my life but it is only since I have retired that I have had time to really start developing some skills.
My main interest is landscape photography and I enjoy taking pictures around the Island here and when we travel. Lately I have started doing short videos to compliment my still images so now tend to post short videos in the blog part of this web site. If you wish to get an email when I add a new video or collection of photos, click on the FOLLOW. It will then ask you to insert your email address. You will then have to click on the “Confirm Follow” button in the email that you will receive. The emails you will later receive will have links to the videos or images that I post. Videos are generally under 3 minutes long and I try to keep them entertaining.
I have included some recent videos on the Video page of this web site although you can go to the Blog page and get links to all the Videos and image Galleries that I have recently posted.
I have also included a short slide show on the Home page of this web site but I keep most of my best images on Smugmug. You can find a link to those image galleries on the Galleries page of this web site.
