I don’t know what the story is here. Maybe their engine failed and they came into the anchorage under sail and lost track of where they were. I don’t know.
During the years we sailed, there were a number of times when the water intake got clogged up, causing the engine to overheat just as we were about to come into an anchorage. We managed without any problems but we were never tested with gale force winds. We don’t know what the circumstances were in this particular occasion.
