The highs have been and are forecast to be 24 – warm and sunny. I guess that’s why people come here. Another attraction is the Promenade des Anglais – a very wide walkway + bike paths that goes 5 kilometres along and above the beach. Our apartment is only two blocks away. We went down there the first day but could only get to it through security at one spot because there was a world Ironman competition going on. Since then we only go there in the evening after the sun goes down. Otherwise we walk in the narrow streets which always have some shade.
There are a lot of pedestrian-mostly streets – mostly because some cars/trucks come through to service businesses. There are also a lot of bike lanes that are well used – note the photo of the Postman on bicycle at the end of the Day 1 photos. The photos of the (excellent) food is from lunch at a restaurant around the corner from our apartment called La Vague. There are no end of restaurants to choose from although some ethnic restaurants are only a facade. So for example, one day we came across a Greek restaurant so decided that’s what we wanted for lunch. Google said there was a better one a 5 minute walk away so we went but when we got there we found out that it was mostly a pizza restaurant with one or two Greek offerings. We went back to the first Greek restaurant. It had a greek name but when we sat down and looked at the menu, we found out that it was mostly a French restaurant with one or two Greek offerings. So much for Greek food.
