Using a tripod – Hiking Alone
I normally don’t take a tripod (unless it’s really dark), but hiking alone (Stoney Hill yesterday) – sometimes you need a person in the foreground so that person has to be me.

Here and There (& launching of “Dorothy”)
As usual – a walk with Julie including to the launching of the Dorothy. Dorothy is a sailboat built at the James Bay boatyard in Victoria in 1897 – now owned by the BC Maritime Museum.

Petroglyph at Jack Point Trail (photos taken this past Friday)
My understanding is that the petroglyph was kept as part of the Nanaimo Museum collection for several decades and was returned in 2008. I assume they used a barge with a crane but looking at it – it would have been very difficult to do that.

Van Isle 360 – 2007
