Spotted Lake
Spotted lake (Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spotted_Lake) has a high concentration of minerals; it dries up in the summer to form the spots. Minerals include: magnesium sulfate, calcium and sodium sulphates with some titanium and silver. The magnesium sulfate crystallizes as it dries producing the spot colour.

Tree Island
Another interesting example of a name change is a small island near the tip of Denman Island off the coast of Vancouver Island. I think it was called Tree Island. The new aboriginal name has a number 7 in it. Again, I think the name change is great but I don’t know how to pronounce…
