Cape Town 2

Updated to Include Pictures from the Robben Island Trip.

The next day we headed off to the Cape Point, stopping in Simon’s Town for a cup of coffee and a look-see. We also stopped at Boulder’s Beach to see the African Penguins. We then had lunch before heading off to the point and had a near misadventure when the car stalled and wouldn’t re-start. Wayne backed into a laneway and tried it several times. It finally started just as we were in the process of calling Avis. We continued on to the Point and enjoyed wandering around the lighthouse, before heading back home,

Day 5 we went for a walk along the ocean in the morning, then drove to Avis to put a request in for a replacement car. We returned to have a wonderful lunch at a restaurant called NV80. We then waited for evening to go up Table Mountain. The fog rolled in to make for an interesting sight. We left the mountain in the dark – with the lights of Cape Town below.

Day 6 was our last day here. After a walk along the beach front, we went to the V&A waterfront for lunch and then to Robben Island to see where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for so many years. The tour was very interesting with the prison tour done by one of the ex-prisoners. After the tour we went to a great restaurant “Il Leone Mastrantonio”,  recommended by Louise. Pictures are at:
