We flew to Auckland and rented a car to go to Bay of Islands (about a 3 1/2 hour drive). I was using Google Maps on my phone for directions except that I forgot to take it off airplane mode so we got a bit lost at the beginning. Once we got that sorted out it was smooth sailing after that.

Once we arrived and checked into our unit (a beach house), we walked over to Charlotte’s Kitchen for dinner.
Today is cyclone day however, hitting mostly the South Island but enough wind rain to relax and catch up on our reading. I did a little time-lapse before the rain started.
