A couple of photos taken just to the right as you enter the park.
A backlit tree caught my attention a bit further along.
Most of the ducks hang around in the duck pond.
But several times I came across these two ducks below foraging up and down the river.
There was also a Heron that Julie and her friend Susan pointed out. They happened to be going for a walk while I was taking pictures and Julie called me on my cell to tell me about the heron.
There was also a Trumpeter Swan in the estuary. My friend Ron mentioned that they migrate to the island here in the winter – mostly to the Comox Valley. I hadn’t realized that before. I found this article if you are interested in reading more: TRUMPETER SWANS – Vancouver Island.
