We were passing St Anne’s Church on Tzouhalem Rd Monday with friends from Colorado. They wanted to take a look at the church so we stopped. There we met Molly Peter with two of her grandchidren, taking care of some of the grave sites. Julie really liked one of them and asked her about it. It turns out it was her mother Ruby Peter’s grave. Ruby Peter was an elder that taught her local (Hul’q’umi’num) language and had received an honorary doctorate from the University of Victoria and Simon Fraser University.
