After we arrived in Lucca by train, we had attempted to walk to our apartment but google took us along gravel pathways and over the town wall. When we saw that, we decided to take a taxi instead.
After Eduardo told us the basics about our apartment, we went to Mimi’s pizzeria for a beer and pizza – very good pizza, very good beer.
The next day we arranged for a food tour in Lucca starting at 11:45 and going on until around 3 pm. It started with a charcuterie board followed by a special ravioli with a meat sauce. Next we had a special bread, a pizza like dish called Cecina with a chickpea topping and then Gelato. The food tour not only covered food but a lot of history of the town.
